An Emergency Veterinarian is a critical role in veterinary medicine, tasked with providing urgent medical care to animals in distress outside of regular clinic hours. As an Emergency Veterinarian, you will work in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment where quick thinking, problem-solving skills, and the ability to remain calm under pressure are essential. Your responsibilities will include diagnosing and treating a wide range of emergency cases, from traumatic injuries to acute illnesses.
In this role, you will collaborate closely with veterinary technicians, and support staff, to deliver the highest quality care to pets in need. Your compassion and empathy towards both animals and their owners will be crucial in providing support during difficult moments. Strong communication skills are also vital, as you will need to explain complex medical situations and treatment options clearly and effectively.
Job Requirements:
- DVM or equivalent degree
- Veterinary license in the state
- Experience in emergency medicine preferred
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
- Strong diagnostic and surgical skills
