About Four Paws Veterinary Clinic:
Four Paws Veterinary Clinic is located in Missoula, MT- known for blue-ribbon trout fishing (made famous by A River Runs Through It) and spectacular natural beauty (most recently featured in the TV show Yellowstone). Four Paws began as a 1-doctor practice in 2002 and has since grown into a thriving 3-DVM clinic with a dedicated team of 10 full-time support staff. We provide top-notch wellness, medical, dental, and surgical care for dogs and cats.
At Four Paws, our values are the guideposts for every decision we make. Over the years, we’ve faced numerous challenges and tough decisions. We like to keep things simple—if it doesn’t align with our values, we don’t do it.
Our core values include:
Commitment to Patients and Clients: Without them, we wouldn’t exist. We are dedicated to delivering the best care possible.
Comprehensive Care: Processes and procedures are essential in helping us maintain our high standards.
Effective Communication: We listen actively, speak empathetically, and always strive to connect with our patients, clients, and each other.
Teamwork: Our success is driven by the collective strength of our team. We work together, respect one another, and always aim to improve.
Growth: We embrace every opportunity for personal and professional development.
We focus on what truly matters—our patients. We follow up-to-date anesthesia, surgical, and dental standards with IV catheters, IV fluids, and pain medications for all surgical procedures. Full-mouth dental x-rays are included in every dentistry. Our clinic also features in-house labs, ultrasound, and digital radiology to diagnose sick pets and get them on the road to recovery as quickly as possible.
We recognize that without our clients and patients, we would not exist. We have established processes and procedures to ensure consistent care every time a client visits. This consistency fosters comfort, builds trust, and creates a long-lasting bond with the clinic. Clear expectations for patient care help minimize communication gaps and reduce conflict.
At Four Paws, we need people who know how to keep it simple, show up, and do their best. We focus on patients, avoid drama, and commit to excellence. In return, we maintain an organized schedule, streamline workflows, and provide well-trained support staff who excel in client education and patient care. As a privately owned clinic, we are invested in both our patients and the people we serve.
You won’t find us chasing social media fame. Instead, we focus on real conversations with the people we see every day. Whether over the phone or in person, we believe in fostering human connections. Technology is a tool, but we only use it when it enhances our work, not when it distracts from it.
We aren’t perfect, and we don’t expect you to be. What drives us is the desire to improve and do better every day. If this resonates with you, you’ll fit right in.
About You:
You’re a veterinarian who thrives on both the challenges and rewards of each day. Problem-solving energizes you, but you also understand the importance of recharging. You know how to set boundaries for yourself and with others, allowing you to show up at your best for every patient and client. People describe you as a pragmatic empath—someone who understands others' perspectives but remains realistic and practical.
We need someone who is comfortable leaning into tough conversations and challenges. Whether it’s advocating for a patient’s best interest, providing feedback to colleagues, or asking for help with a procedure, you understand that growth often comes from stepping outside your comfort zone. You believe in being the change you want to see in the profession.
You understand that work and life require constant balance, and you’re committed to putting in the effort for both. Time management and prioritization are key to keeping appointments on schedule, ensuring patients receive the care they need, and making sure everyone gets home on time to rejuvenate for the next day.
You appreciate the importance of processes and standards in ensuring clear communication with clients and colleagues. And you recognize that processes are always evolving. You welcome the opportunity to contribute positively to advancing our standards and improving our workflows.
Lifelong learning is a part of who you are. You see opportunities for growth and learning every day, no matter how small they may seem, and you take advantage of them. Whether consulting textbooks or online resources or sharing knowledge with your team, you understand that growth takes a village—and you enjoy being part of that collective success.
The Role:
If you see yourself thriving in this environment, let’s talk about what we do and when we do it!
