Short Version: Great practice, great quality of life, great opportunity. 4-day schedule, no nights or weekends. If you're city-minded it's basically Louisville without the traffic and lower expenses; if you like rural just live 10 minutes in the other direction and have your fill of cornfields, barnyards and whatnot. Happy to mentor a new or young vet, happy to bring on someone experienced, BUT our team is awesome so you must want to be PART of it and have a growth mentality like the rest of us.
Longer Version: Access Vet Care works as a team for the benefit of our patients and our staff. We are privately/locally owned and dedicated to providing great medicine (AAHA accredited) with a great staff in a great working environment. We have two full-service clinics 15 minutes apart, offering modern outpatient medical, surgical, and dental care. All the tech and tools you'd expect and DVMs/staff experienced in their use.
Minutes from Louisville, KY in Southern Indiana, the area is beautiful, with plenty to do between the city just across the river and the rural outdoors just to the north. Both Jeffersonville and New Albany offer great walkable downtowns with great restaurants and regular events. It's a seriously great place to be young and have fun, or to raise a family, whatever you're into.
Our current situation/needs would be ideal for a new/newer grad that is looking for mentorship. That's not lip service, either - if desired, we would provide an organized mentorship plan for you. We're also open to more seasoned applicants, of course. Whomever joins the team, our goal is to encourage professional growth - whether that's getting your feet under you as a new DVM, honing your primary skills, or pursuing a new skill set (ultrasound? ortho? dentistry? up to you).
Salary, benefits, etc: we'll make make all that work for the right person, so focus on whether this is the right position for you. A good attitude and team-focus on your part is not negotiable. Your job is busting arse for our patients' health; owners/management understand their job is busting arse for our team's health - creating a great working environment, making sure the team is well and fairly rewarded, and maintaining healthy boundaries. It's not lip service, and we like to think we do a decent job of it. Check out our website and Facebook page to get a feel for us (and don't trust the hard sell in these ads ;)
DVM degree & state licensure
Great people skills (seriously, too many overlook this)
A real desire to be part of a TEAM
