Ocean State Equine Associates is looking for a sports medicine practitioner to add to the team. We are an 8-doctor (including two interns and one fellow) practice serving the equine communities of Rhode Island, and surrounding areas. We have a heavy lameness and growing surgical caseload along with our new facility. The ability/willingness of an applicant to perform some emergency surgery duty is a plus. The individual who will be most fulfilled in this role is avidly interested in private practice. If this is you and you would like to work as part of an enthusiastic team, with horses across many disciplines and owners who are accustomed to quality medicine and communication, keep reading! The facility has 3 exam areas, an operating room with 2 induction/recovery stalls, and 2 ICU stalls. The adjacent barn has 10 stalls. Interns live on-site and there is a USDA CEM quarantine station on the property. Additionally, there are large outdoor and indoor arenas as well as a Eurocisor that can be leveraged to expand the already busy lameness portion of the practice. We enjoy a collegial, professional work environment. Cases are often shared. Client communication and team collaboration skills are essential. We are proud of maintaining strong relationships with surrounding veterinarians and have a growing referral caseload. We strive for efficiency but not at the expense of quality patient care, practice culture or work-life balance. This area offers a bit for everyone! The practice area is mostly suburban-rural. The fabulous coast-line and the terrific city of Providence are within miles of the clinic. Boston and the New England mountains are within easy striking distance.
