Suburban Animal Clinic of Monroe is seeking a Medical Director to lead our Practice!
The Medical Director (MD) role is primarily responsible for ensuring the delivery of high- quality veterinary medicine at the practice. In addition to possessing the knowledge and the ability to perform the duties of a Veterinarian, the MD must maintain ongoing knowledge of industry medical standards and best practices. Further, the MD must translate this knowledge to colleagues within the practice and implement standards and accountability measurements to ensure the delivery of optimal medical care to animals.
The MD will be expected to lead his/her hospital by exhibiting integrity, pride, and professionalism. The MD must also work cohesively with the Practice Manager (PM) to synergize efforts within the practice. Together, the PM and MD uphold the highest standards for maintaining a practice culture that exhibits the values of the organization and effectively delivers those values through daily operations and team behavior. The broad functions of the MD role include practicing high quality veterinary medicine, maintaining employee engagement and retention, planning and executing a positive pet owner experience, practice reputation management, financial analysis, practice planning and others.
The MD must also be a courageous leader who embraces change and continually challenges the team to improve the delivery of veterinary medicine, which in turn helps the practice achieve success.
DVM degree or equivalent
License to practice veterinary medicine within applicable state(s)
8+ years of experience practicing veterinary medicine preferred
Robust veterinary medicine knowledge including cutting edge standards of care
Proven ability to translate medical knowledge and to develop colleagues
Must possess and role model the highest ethical standards for practicing veterinary medicine
Outstanding customer service skills with the ability to introduce and role model strong service standards for all types of client interactions
Proficient computer and software skills including: Word, Excel, Outlook, and other office management systems and software
Ability to develop and lead safety training programs and initiatives for the hospital
Must show a commitment to professional development and continual improvement
Inspirational leadership characteristics; proven ability to coach and enable team development
Dynamic interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with diverse audiences and stakeholders at all levels
Demonstrated analytical abilities with strong attention to detail
