We also ALWAYS have overnight assistants to care for boarders and hospitalized animals.
We're 10 minutes from the beach, 1hr from NYC or Philly. (Mostly suburban area, but lots of rural areas for horses, etc.) We have "good" clients, who are loyal and nice. We are active in the community (visiting schools, scout tours, etc), work with the local SPCA and Humane Society, and donate to Heifer International.
We are seeking a full-time or part-time, experienced veterinarian who can independently see appointments. FULL-TIME: Two weekdays (8a-8p) and alternating weekends (Sat & Sun 8a-8p.) PART-TIME: One day (8a-8p) a week and one weekend (Sat & Sun 8a-8p) a month. We're a busy practice. Plan on seeing 15-20 appointments a day. No after-hour emergencies (Garden State Vet Specialists and Red Bank Vet Hospital are 5-15 minutes away and NorthStar is 25 minutes west) We see predominantly dogs & cats, but pocket pets are not unusual, and we'll even see the occasional small ruminant, chicken or pot-bellied pig. (We have board-certfiied Avian specialist on-staff to see more involved avian cases)
Compensation is percentage-based, but the focus is on practicing "good quality medicine" not meeting quotas, etc. (expected compensation is $100,000-$125,000+ for Full-time (average of 3 days a week)) Other standard benefits such as 401K, health insurance, paid CE, licenses, malpractice insurance, license defense, etc are included.
Experience vets are preferred, but we are certainly happy to mentor and provide "pearls of wisdom" for new graduates who have enthusiasm and extensive hands-on experience (Tech-work in vet hospitals, etc). We love practicing veterinary medicine and want new graduates to succeed in a life-long career too!
