The College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences is opening a Translational Medicine Institute focused on research and continuing education this fall. Included is the center for Global Education in Medicine and Surgery (GEMS) having a major focus in minimally invasive surgery, endoscopic training and interventional radiology in both veterinary and human medicine. We have a large teaching laboratory with 12 stations equipped with Storz towers as well as 12 Arthrex (arthroscopy towers). We also have two surgical Storz OR1 suites, two Arthrex surgical suites, 2 MRIs, CT, ultrasound and diagnostic radiology. The assistant director would be involved in working with the associate director (a DVM) in planning and overseeing courses at the GEMS center. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop continuing education courses. The assistant director will directly supervise an events coordinator, laboratory manager and AV personnel.
